How has the QRC space impacted you?
The QRC space has impacted me in ways where I CAN build a community by using the space and even feel a sense of belonging. Although I may or may not identify as queer I still feel like it was a space that made me feel like I can be here, safe, connecting with people, making friends and community, get basic resources in need especially because I don’t eat sometimes and I know there is few places on campus that provide basic necessities such as food. I also feel like this space makes me feel like I have hope for people and communities especially in a time that we are with our government administration and the world around us right now. I feel like this space motivates me to have my voice heard, it reminds me that WE CAN COME TOGETHER IN SOLIDARITY AND CREATE CHANGE!
What about the QRC do you think would be lost in the move to a smaller space?
I feel like it can just feel crowded where people can’t concentrate. People that wanna use this as a study space. Maybe just the surrounding other resources centers feel overwhelming. I feel like the simple fact that we know this space is moving could be a subliminal that our CCSF administration is so quick to cut these resources centers saying that it’s good for us but really doesn’t understand the impact it has on us, it’s not just a “space”
